Larkhall Volunteering Open Day
Event Date:
20 March, 2010 Interested in Volunteering – Want to make a difference and meet new people
Are you at a loose end and want to get out and about a bit more? Do you want to do something more positive with your time? Then this might be for you!
Larkhall Volunteer Development Group and Changing Places are hosting an open day for local people in Larkhall to advise on the volunteering opportunities on offer from local voluntary groups and organisations.
There are a number of benefits to volunteering not just it being good for the soul and a feel-good factor. It can also put you on-track to improve your career and personal skills. Whether you're currently studying, in work, or unemployed - volunteering is a great way to:
• develop new skills and improve existing skills
• build your confidence and motivation
• show employers you've got drive and initiative
There are plenty of volunteering opportunities to choose from. To find out what’s available in Larkhall why don’t you come along to Larkhall Community Centre, 19 Montgomery Street, Larkhall on Saturday 20th March anytime between 10am and 1.pm . There will also be face painting for the kids and a chance to de-stress with some hand, neck and shoulder massages. For further information, please contact Hazel and Fiona Lamont on 01698 886549.
