‘see me’s new Small Grants Scheme will grant awards of up to £5,000 to local groups who can come up with fresh and innovative ideas and projects to tackle stigma and discrimination associated with mental health.  The first round of awards will include groups and organisations in the Area Health Board Regions of Lanarkshire, Orkney, Shetland and Tayside. There will also be one Equality Award of up to £5,000 on offer for work with aims to tackle mental health and stigma inequalities in one or more equalities group.
 
We will fund projects that aim to:
  • Change public understanding, attitudes and behaviour so that the stigma and discrimination associated with mental ill-health is eliminated
  • Enhance the ability of people to challenge stigma and discrimination
  • Ensure people with mental health problems and those who support them are valued and included
  • Improve media reporting of mental ill-health
