Smart Project Update
Smart is Changing!! !!
The Smart Project, the social economy support project hosted by CVS HEK and funded for 3 years by Big Lottery, officially ended in June 2009.
The Project has many achievements over the 3 year period, which includes:
· Nurturing 7 Start Up organisations in the Smart Incubator Unit
· Providing specialist development support to 109 Reps from local organisations
· Providing social enterprise and tailored training to 217 Reps from local organisations
· Involving 881 participants in Smart awareness raising and Lanarkshire Social Economy Networking events and activities.
· Taking a lead role as part of the Lanarkshire CVS network in organising the first pan Lanarkshire Social Economy Conference in 2007, with follow up Conferences in 2008 & 2009
Smart will continue however under a different guise - CVSHEK recently received great news of the success of its bid to the SVA Change Champion Programme, to deliver a new project - Smart Change Champion.
This confirms that the Smart Project has now been widely recognised as a valuable model of good practice, by other CVS partners across Scotland.
The Smart Change Champion Project will involve delivering an exciting social enterprise support programme, cascading the learning and experience gained from Smart, to 15 identified CsVs Partners across Scotland. Smart Change Champion will run from autumn 2009 to June 2011.
SMART Change Champion project is funded by the Big Lottery Fund in Scotland, through the Supporting Voluntary Action Programme, being administered by SCVO, (the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations).
